What can be a perfect night time meal?
A full bowl of hearty, meaty, juicy ground beef chili is what you call a perfect end to a good day and can satisfy even the pickiest of eaters out there. Since, this is such a great dish, it is thought that it takes a lot of time to prepare as well. Plus, keeping in mind the tough reputation of beef, this belief is further strengthened and hence people rarely try out this recipe.
However, that is not entirely true. With a Instant Pot pressure cooker and this recipe, your beef will turn out just perfect and you will have one of the most delicious chili on your plates.

Ingredients
- Ground beef- 1 pound
- Ribs celery- 2 (chopped)
- Onion- 1 (finely chopped)
- Green bell pepper- 1 (finely chopped)
- Garlic clove- 1 (finely chopped)
- Kidney beans- 1 can
- Cheese- 1 cup ( can be any favorite, must be shredded)
- Diced Tomatoes- 1 can
- Tomato paste- 3 tablespoons
- Oregano- 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt- as per taste
- Pepper- as per taste (optional)
- Chili powder- 2 tablespoon
- Oil
Instructions
- First comes the vegetables. In your instant pot, add in oil, onions, green bell pepper, celery and garlic. Select the saute mode and set the timer for 5 minutes.
- Next comes the beef. After breaking it into small pieces, add in ground beef to the instant pot. Cook until it is no longer pink for a good 10 minutes using the meat/ stew option.
- Add in your spices i.e the oregano, salt, pepper and chili powder.
- Then strain the tomatoes and add them and the beans to the instant pot. Add in water to make 1 cup of broth inside. Place the lid and seal your instant pot. Select the “Chili” mode and set the timer to 20 minutes. In case your instant pot does not come with the chili feature, simply put the pot on high pressure for 20 minutes. After 10 minutes, the pressure will start building inside.
- As the time goes off after 20 minutes, release the pressure naturally or by a quick release. It will take another 20 minutes for the pressure to completely release. Open the lid and your chili will be cooked.
- Mix the chili thoroughly. Serve with shredded cheese as topping
